I wanted to read Perks a second time before I actually watched the movie because it was more than over a year since I had first read it, and I wanted to remember somethings to see how the film stood up.

I hav always found Logan Lerman to be incredibly attractive, but I’ve never really seen him in anything that shows his true acting ability. For that reason I was very hesitant to see him play such an iconic character. He has always given off this older mature vibe to him so  I didn’t see him as my first choice for a very naive and quiet Charlie. I was not only proven wrong, but I don’t think anyone else could have played it better. Right when it started off his body language projected how someone of this character would sit, talk, act, and socialize. Logan got everything right. He was so soft-spoken with dark demons and all he really wanted was friends and people to care for him just like he cares for others. 

Emma Watson was not what I wanted exactly from someone playing Sam.. I just doesn’t seem right in my eyes. I wanted someone a little more vivacious or something… I really don’t know how to explain it which sucks but I thought Emma was ok..

Ezra Miller playing Patrick was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. I have so much love for his acting skills and I think if the award shows were more open minded he would have a nomination of some sort. He was spunky and electric but sincere. I think Chbosky really knew that Ezra was a pick of perfection. I think his performance alone is enough of a reason to watch.

The whole film was, as every other review has said, nostalgic with some great moments.

when Charlie starts to have his break down and all these memories rush in…. I think that’s when I fell in love with Logan.. it was very real and beautifully put together.. he’s a great cryer and really knows how a breakdown scene should be. 

Some parts were rather cheesy like the part where Sam goes through the tunnel and see’s the city and also the part when Logan says the infamous line “i feel infinite”.. but I think if you liked the book you’ll find some part in this movie to love.
